LAWYER TO LAWYER REFERRALS

            We encourage lawyers and law firms to refer personal injury cases to us.  We maintain referral relationships with many lawyers and law firms in New Hampshire, New England and throughout the country in personal injury matters.  We pay referral fees, within ethical guidelines.  In some cases we will have the referring counsel assist in the preparation of the case and trial.  If you have a client or friend who has been injured in another state and are not sure what to do, please contact us to discuss that case.  We have many referral relationships with lawyers in other states throughout the country.    

            We encourage referring counsel to consider whether a personal injury client of theirs is subject to federal diversity jurisdiction.  Diversity jurisdiction occurs in cases where the parties are residents of different states and the value of the matter in controversy exceeds $75,000.00.  Most commonly, federal diversity jurisdiction occurs in cases where the operator of a motor vehicle is from out of state or where, for instance, either an employee or a contractor is from out of state in a construction site injury.  Many times, personal injury cases which are subject to federal diversity jurisdiction are brought in state court because the lawyer is unfamiliar with federal court procedural rules or are unwilling to use that forum.  We regularly commence lawsuits in federal court. 

            If you are a lawyer and have a personal injury case that you are uncomfortable about trying in a state or federal court either because of the complexity of the issues raised or because it is out of your field of practice, please call us to discuss it.  Your privacy will be respected and there is no charge for consultations concerning referral cases. 

            Some of the cases listed on our "Cases" page on this web site involve referrals with out-of-state counsel and demonstrate our experience in multiple jurisdictions.

CLIENT REFERRALS

            We are also happy to assist clients and refer them to other lawyers if their case is in an area in which we do not practice.  We will provide you with the phone numbers of several attorneys who are competent and experienced in the field.  We do not charge clients to provide referral information.
